Both appear to be circular. The "Olympus System Manual for Macrophoto Group"
is less than elucidting, saying only, "Ring Cross Filter POL, a
cross-polarizing filter which minimizes direct reflections from the T10 Ring
Flash 1 for highly reflective subject matter."
However, looking through mine at a reflective surface, I find that both the
inner and outer parts kill or diminish reflections only when viewed from one
side of the filter, but not the other. It's been my experience that linear
polarizers kill reflections whichever way you look through them, while the
circular sort work in only one direction.
As always, I could be wrong.
