Another thought...
I underestand that some companies pay based on the number of items
delivered. Therefore, if you are not home, and the parcel is left on the
truck, the driver does not get paid for more than one trip.
This is one of those things like mechanics paid on a flat rate. It's great
for the company, but not so hot for the customer.
