Neutral grey would probably work as well.
I seem to recall that there used to be a few brands of pro CRT
monitors that included a big hood to attach around the monitor to
prevent reflections on the screen. At least one also included a
special neutral grey lab coat so that the colour of your clothes
wouldn't reflect on the screen and affect the way you perceived the
colour.
