Actually Chuck, I think you're referring to a 19" LCD and Samsung makes a
couple of 19" LCDs - the 900-series (910 and 913) and the 190-series (192
and 193). The models vary a little in contrast ratio and brightness.

Just to make it clear the Samsung SymcMaster 753DF is a flat screen CRT.
As best I can recall it's probably about 3 years old. Actually, I
just looked up the sales slip and see that my memory is not so good.
It's actually 4-1/2 years old which I guess is a bit past middle age for
a CRT monitor. Maybe it's a little tired. Certainly could have drifted
by now but I also think this problem has been there a long time. I
discovered it maybe a month after buying it and should have taken it
back but didn't. Maybe the problem is worse today and more noticeable.
I also just noticed that the horizontal size variation isn't as smooth
from center to edge as I thought. The maximum size (on the left side
only) is actually reached about 80% to the edge from the center. It
then begins to diminish again.

Anyhow, the monitor has all sorts of soft controls. I've tried all of
them (including degauss and vertical linearity in the geometry section)
No changes I could see but I think I should spend a bit more time with
the vertical linearity to see if I can correct the vertical size problem.

Monitor is running at 75Hz. One possible signal contamination problem
is that it's hooked up to an old A-B switch box. It's not really needed
any more and I should remove it but right now I'm not up to crawling
through the rat's nest of cables in the back.

Maybe it's time for a new Samsung 213T LCD monitor. Actually, I don't
need a screen quite that large. Is there a 219T? Tom? Jamie?
