Couple of highlights from PC mag that may be of interested to some members.
Free geotagging from Bill Gates and friends (accomplices?)
wwmx.org--Location stamper will let you import sets of photos and track logs
from a GPS ( or
manually determined location) and stamp the location in the EXIF file. WWMX
will then display location in a viewer window using Microsoft's MapPoint.NET
service (free). End of wondering where that shot was taken.
Hmmm, I still scrawl on back of prints or in books with OM-2. [details in
pcmag.com Dec 6 issue] There is also a geotagging group in Flickr. Noted in
a 5D review linked to this site that one "con" was that it did not innately
support GPS. I'm not sure if that is a significant issue or in same category
as lack of lettuce spinning capacity.
Heads up on photosharing at www.zoto.com. Free account yields 2 GB storage
and unlimited bandwidth. Flickr has only allowed 10MB per month with freebie
account.
