'Tis why I think it's some kind of routing issue, Moose, and that
perhaps Olaf's ISP is blocking connections from some US providers. That
*is* entirely possible.
I have scads of Verizon, SBC and Comcast IPs on my *email* block list
(not blocked inbound globally), because so many are compromised and spam
or send virus and hack attempts continually. NO dynamic IP on those
networks should be an smtp source--yet hundreds are. Rather than fix the
problem (block outbound smtp and other obviously bogus behavior) per
their AUP, the networks involved figure everyone else should deal with
it on their end. I wouldn't find it surprising that many non-US nets
just block everything from many of the big US networks as a result--much
like many of us network types do with Chinese IPs here.
