I am trying to make a CD-ROM containing scanned holiday images for a
relative. She will view it using a DVD player.
I can make the CD with no problem. I have 160 images named Yugoslavia-001,
Yugoslavia-002, etc. (This holiday was from when there was a Yugoslavia).
When I look at the CD on a PC, using either Windows 2000 or XP Pro, the
images are listed and displayed in the correct order.
When I insert the CD in my DVD player, which can show slide shows from a
CD, the images come up in a different order. I think that this is the
order that they have been recorded on the disk. If I use the command "dir
e:" at the command prompt, I see the images listed in the same, jumbled,
order that they appear using the DVD player. The DVD player uses the same
order every time.
I have tried making the CD again, ensuring that Easy CD Creator (running
under Windows 2000) is set to record the images in name order, and get just
the same result.
I have tried making the CD on another PC, using NTI CD Maker under XP. The
same result again.
The order does not relate to how I scanned the images. Both PCs are using
NTFS, so the folders holding the files being written to CD are
automatically sorted in alphabetic order.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the files on the CD in the correct order ?
