People underestimate the mountains of the Northeastern US. Mount Washington
has some of the worst wind and lowest temperatures of anywhere in this
country. The mountains of the West are newer so tend to be sharper than the
older and more rounded mountains of the East. Mountains are great places
wherever they may be. /jmac

His tenth birthday is coming up in two weeks and as part of his (and mine, I
guess...:) present we are renting next weekend a cabin with woodburning
stove high in the White Mountains. I know, they are nothing like yours, but
a few weeks ago the snow on the peaks was between forty and sixty inches.
