Who cares about a tripod ? I left for Poland without one, and it didn't
stop me from taking pictures with 1/15s up to 6 seconds shutter time
without worries. Trees, poles and your wallet on benches, walls or the
ground are your friends !
Hoping to get back my pictures today, otherwise next week, then check,
scan, post them... Don't hold your breath. I shot 3 rolls (2 Provia
100, 1 Portra 160VC) in less than one week, which is much above my
average. Wroclaw & the Klodzko valley are quite impressive,
particularly in sunny weather with fall colours.
I didn't get your responses to the RF question before I left, but it's
hard to find old&shabby photo shops there nowadays. All MediaMarkt (for
those across the pond: read: hi-tech shopping mall) style big
box-movers. I might take a shot at a cheap fixed lens RF camera once,
but this trip has again shown how much I love my OM-4T + 28/2.8 + 50/1.4
+ 90/2 setup. I never cared for the 50mm format, and now I use it more
than the 2 other lenses combined. So there's plenty to learn for me by
just using the equipment I have. I might get an F11 just for the
day-to-day photography, though, since the size of the OM system & the
fact that it costs money to take pictures stop me from using it on lots
of occasions.
