While doing some down-on-the-ground macro photography this morning with the E-1
and 50/2 Zuiko, I found myself fervently wishing for a right-angle viewfinder.
So, I figured it was worth a shot and dug out the old Varimagni. Works
perfectly with the E-1! The only catch, there's nowhere to attach it, so it
has to be manually held against the viewfinder. However, doing so is really
much less inconvenient than it sounds like it would be. Anyway, it beats the
hell out of getting mud in your ear.
Somebody should make some sort of adapter bracket thingamajig. Shouldn't be
that big a deal. Could attach either to the hot shoe, the rubber ring around
the viewfinder, or the tripod socket. I may see what I can cobble together
when I get back from a week of fun in the Smokies. I've got epoxy, J-B Weld,
Super, Crazy, and Gorilla Glue, plus some velcro strips and big rubber bands,
so I have probably everything I'll need. :-)
