I have to demur. I just provided the URL for the review not the
review itself.
A 4/3 sensor is not much smaller than the APS sized sensor used by
everyone else. It is just missing the ends. Here is a discussion of
sensor sizes:
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0210/02100402sensorsizes.asp
The main thing about sensor size is digital noise. If the camera
performance satisfies you now it will continue to do so. If you
collect lenses then the future development of the camera will concern
you unless you don't mind changing brands of camera and your lenses
as well. Some people have said there is not much future for 4/3
because of the noise inherent in smaller pixels, but recent
improvements by the engineers in handling noise would seem to make
that a false or at least questionable assumption.
Yes, you select a single point for focusing and leave it there. I
don't think I would agree completely with the statement about
multisensors though. I don't fully understand them myself, but they
do have their uses, the most spectacular of which is the ability to
follow focus even when your subject ducks behind something else
momentarily.
You need to remember that a test shows comparisons on your computer
screen at the 100 percent level, equivalent to 35 x 46 inches for the
full frame, larger than you are ever likely to print. Even then the
differences are smaller than a plus one adjustment in sharpness would
be. The difference may be just the difference in sharpening given by
the cameras in the default setting and would doubtless disappear in a
print. The resolution is almost identical for the two cameras. I
would not worry about that so much as how comfortable the camera is
to pick up and use without confusion.
