As others have said, it is not super sharp wide open, but becomes
very good by f4. It is great for portraits. Wide open I suppose it
could be used for good effect if a slighthly soft look was desired.
I shot my mother-in-law's wedding with it and flash and the results
were great. In test shots before hand I liked it much better than my
50mm1.8 (MIJ) with the flash. Hard to describe, but seems to have a
wonderful tone. Sorry, don't have an E-1.
