I finally bought one of these digital things,
intending to use it as a point and shoot. But I
hooked it up to the Tamron 400/4 (equivalent 800mm)
and took some shots of pelicans in La Jolla. This one
is sharp but lots of them are an inch or two out of
focus. Does anyone have any good ideas of how to
focus this beast? I may be just getting old.
The following is straight of the camera ISO 400, with
sharpening and saturation at +2.

This was crunched down to 197 kb and it does look
crunchy but still shows the sharpness of the tamron.
