I definitely noticed a big improvement when I switched from my 50/1.8
to my 50/1.4. I no longer have a 1.8 (I know, I should just turn in my
ZA membership card right now) and don't recall the vintage of it. My
1.4 is 1006xxx so that's reasonably new vintage (2nd last iteration?)
but not into the vaunted >1,100,000 heights.
