There are some high-quality things being produced there right now. The
Chinese are widely accused of trashing their environment to keep their
production costs down but I don't know how valid that is. The low labor cost
certainly helps them as does their strong work ethic. /jmac

Back in the 1960s being labelled "Made in Japan" was synonymous with "cheap
plastic crap".
Perhaps the PRC will producing the world's high end mechandise in a
