It's six weeks today since Hurricane Katrina changed the way we live on the
Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Even though I was far luckier than 99% of the
populace, life will not return to normal any time soon. Maybe in a couple of
years...
I finally had time to go down to the beach front a week ago, and walked
along and looked at slabs where magnificent homes used to stand. I've lived on
the Coast for 22 years, and always used to say that I wished I could take a day
and just walk along the beach and take photos of the beautiful mansions and
antique cottages there. Well, they're just not there any more.
If you've got a photo project you've been wanting to pursue but just haven't
been able to find the time, don't put it off any longer. Your subjects may
not be there the next time you look.
Best to all,
Greg
