This one sold for close to $540,000. It was a good price for the seller. A
similar one but 200 sq ft larger sold the next day for $538,000. The owner
had already bought a new home, moved out, and wanted this one sold in about
a week.
This development is next to a train station. Other than the noise it's in a
nice location. California Ave was the main street of a little town called
Mayfield. Around 1900 the town was known for liquor and its bordellos. When
Stanford University was founded, Stanford tried to get Mayfield to clean up
but didn't succeed. He basically founded Palo Alto, which grew faster than
Mayfield, and eventually absorbed it. There's still a nice small business
district there.
