Not just photographic - OCR software is pretty impressive, specifically
"Presto" as it is named over your side, which is a Russian product.
I recall being told by a Russian IT specialist years ago that for his
obligatory military service he was sent to work on image recognition
systems. They were trying to develop software to determine the presence and
type of submarines/torpedoes from the disturbances of wave patterns made on
the surface. It makes OCR sound a trivial task.
