Hi all
I'm a very long time lurker on this list, but have popped my head over the
parapet to mention a new web-based discussion forum that may be of interest
to some list members.
It is called http://www.photocamel.com and has been in existence for just a
couple of months. However, within that time it has built a sound base of
enthusiastic photographers, both amateur and professional, and has developed
a very friendly ethos that I believe is missing in many other on-line
forums.
We are always looking for more input, either from keen 'newbies' or from
those with great experience in the art and science of photography. I think
there are many on this list who would qualify for the latter. The Olympus
area in particular, although one of the busiest on the site, would benefit
from some of the knowledge found here. There are already members on the
photocamel Olympus forum who shoot OM and E-x (often re-using the OM
lenses), and there are plenty of galleries where one can show one's talents
(or lack of, in my case ;) ). We even have an OT area, so it could be a home
from home for some :) - however, it is moderated and we have fairly strict
posting guidelines to try to make order out of chaos.
If you do come over, then please announce yourself in the 'Introduce
Yourself' section. You will be made very welcome.
If this message is deemed inappropriate (or 'spam') then I do apologise, but
I think there is plenty of space for message boards and mailing lists to
co-exist, and I hope you accept this message in the friendly manner in which
it was sent.
Regards
Paul
