Back in the late 70s I heard the head of Bank of America address the
National Association of Manufacturers. Essentially his message was
that they, the corporations, would have displaced national
governments in the new century and would rule. His message to the
public was to lean back and enjoy it, which was the same jokey advice
sometimes given then to women concerned about being raped. Apparently
they plan ahead and are right on schedule.
