As a follow-up, I believe that it's the coolscan 5000 that has this
feature if used with the optional strip film feeder. The now
discontinued 4000 also had the feature, so you might be able to snag
one of these for less money. Not sure if the feeder is the same for
both or was changed but that's another $200-300 on top of the cost of
the scanner.
