Doesn't work on older AMD processors (like mine). Requires Intel's SSE
instruction set extensions which didn't get into the AMD line until the
"Palomino" and "Thoroughbred" line of processors were released starting about
2001. These have model numbers beginning with "AX". I've been waiting for a
Palomino AX2100 processor to show up on the bay so I can try running Pixmantec.
Fortunately, my motherboard is upgradeable to a Palomino but not a Thoroughbred.
