Because taking a picture of a bug its hard when you have to come so close as

Here's a table that shows various extension tubes and the 65-116 tube used
on some Zuiko non-marco lenses and the Kiron 105

Note that the Kiron reaches 1:1 at 110mm (with hood extended) where the 135
on the 65-116 tube at 116 gets 1:1 at 270mm.
You might also pick up a copy of John Shaw's Closeups in Nature. A fine
book that discusses many different ways to skin the cat.
