Public recognition and thank you:
Bill (temporarily down in the dumps about a Bessa II) Barber
sent me a terrific picture for my enjoyment. It is proudly
sitting on the top of the entertainment center leaned against
the wall. It will adorn the living room once it gets mounted,
matted and framed--definitely a part of my "permanent wall art
collection".
All I can say is "WOW!" I don't care what you all think about
whether photography is "art" or not. This is art! I can
honestly say that I would have never made a photograph like
this. Monet, step aside, there's a new impressionist sheriff in
town. And he wields an E-1 instead of a paintbrush.
The composition, oh that composition, is perfect. The humanity
of the artist shines. The colors are subtle, yet bold. The
visual depth to the picture just draws you in. It's so
relaxing, yet so realistic in an implied way that I can hear the
bees buzzing. No "flash in the pan" this picture--it's got
legs. I know I'll be enjoying this for years to come.
Well done, Bill, well done.
Oh, and thank you for the hand written note. I'll have that
mounted to the back of the frame.
