I did not mean to offend anyone, just wondering what the reason was for
all the plastic-looking pictures I have seen, and which I totally
unscientifically have just got the feeling they all seem to come from
C***n digitals. Maybe, as you say, it is the preferences of the users
and how they set their cameras, use Photoshop etc. which is showing.
Personally, I much prefer black-and-white film and paper, mainly because
it appeals more to my senses - more like listening to live music instead
of an MP3. I still believe that C***n's digital cameras do more
aggressive manipulation of the sensor data than other makes. Market
research? US consumers seem to like brighter colours for example.
The N***n was chosen for its ergonomics, brighter viewfinder, general
feel of quality etc, he (and I) preferred it over C***ns and the E-300.
Regarding C***n-bashing, we have 2 C***n cameras in the family, an A-1
and an AE-1P, both of which all of us like very much indeed. We also own
Minoltas (XG-1), a FED, a Pontiac, a Yashica TLR etc so there is no
preference for any particular manufacturer.
