The film is the film. That is the reason that most printers miss chromes-
there is something that is set in stone, as it were. It may well be sent on
to be scanned and manipulated by an artist, but it is what it is when it
comes from the camera.
A digital file is whatever you make it. Most agree that there will be some
adjustments necessary, such as white balance, overall exposure (and you
thought highlights blow out on chromes...), and most likely, sharpening. If
the chorme is five points magenta, that can be dealt with later, but most
clients wnat the photographer to deal with that.
And there's the most fundamental- what format?
