Vivitar S1 600/8 and 800/11 weigh 3 lbs. and are 3.3" long.
Zuiko 400/6.3 1.3kg (2.9 lbs.) 255mm (10")long, and 3.1" diameter
Cambron 500/8 T-mount weighs 26 ounces (1.6 lbs.) and is 16.3" long.
Tamron 400/4 2.3kg (5 lbs.) 297mm (11.7") long, and 118mm (4.6") diameter
The Cambron was a cheap lens that had very good performance. They were also
quite light. I seldom carried mine because of the length.
The solid cat is heavy compared to most mirror lenses but very reasonable
compared to a "big brand" refractor.
If I could reliably focus the solid cats I would carry and use them. However
a side affect of the short length is that they seem more sensitive to camera
vibration. I seem to have less problem keeping the Tamron 400/4 + 1.4 TC
stable than the solid cat.
