Thanks, Moose. I couldn't open up any more without blowing the bright
stuff, and Mr. Slug was in almost complete darkness as far as the sensor
was concerned, I gave him a boost with a levels boost through a mask, but
I couldn't bring him up very much or all you'd see was color noise. I
tried to do some fill flash, but that destroyed the atmosphere, so I just
stuck with the available light shot. ("Stuck" is an interesting choice of
words :-) Anyway, seeing the sun through those leaves was definitely an
"ahah!" moment.
I don't know wildflower types well, but yours could be a cousin.
And Brian, thanks for the compliment. Some of my best stuff is actually
taken with a certain German rangefinder camera TMNBN, but I don't normally
