I don't know about this specific case but friends living in Sweden tell me
that if you have a party at your home and a guest who has consumed alcohol
at your house has an accident you may be liable. He said they picked up and
delivered their guests for alcohol fueled social events. /jmac

This has to be urban legend, but . . .
Years ago, one of my co-workers insisted he read that one of the
Scandinavian countries had such a problem with drunk drivers causing fatal
accidents that a zero tolerance policy was enacted. Supposedly, some guy
violated a couple times and was given the death penalty which was carried
out by electrocution, broadcast on TV.
Since the Internet didn't even exist when I heard this, I had no way of
verifying the story. ;o) This thread reminded me of it.
