Please excuse my question if it looks stupid, but I'm not an english native
speaker, and I'm not sure that this exact product is available in France, so
when you speak of a grease, is it because it feels semi-solid (opposite to
oil which would be liquid) or because it's of animal origin instead of
vegetal or mineral ? Is there a more "general purpose" grease which would
match this specialized one, just in case I can't find it (like, I don't
know... sewing machine or hair cutter mineral lube) ?

You mean that normaly each "hole" is a round cup not connected to the previous
and following one ? In that case, yes, there's now a fairly deep track
between holes. Guess that's the source of my problem. Maybe I should start to
stock out of order bodies, as a source of parts for repairs. Not that I don't
value the job of true professionals, but all the remaning olympus specialists
seem to be in the USA nowdays, and that's very, very far for me.
