The other day I met a woman driving down the street talking on her cell
phone. A police car was behind her with his lights flashing but no siren on
at the time. As we passed I waved at the woman and pointed back at the
police car. As I passed him he put both hands in the air in the whimsy
gesture. It would have made a cute video. She finally stopped a couple of
blocks down the street. I read the other day that about half the automobile
accidents now involve the use of cell phones and that the hands free devices
are really of no help as the drivers attention is still diverted from

I was in a little post office parking lot a few nights ago and a
local cop pulled in to see what was going on. I said, "I wanted to
make a call on my cell phone and I pulled in here to make it." He
seemed a little amused by that. I just don't like driving and
scrolling through menus.
