Actually the shutter of the OMs was pretty good, as was the first
ever dampening of the mirror action with an air cylinder. Aperture
actuation was the Achilles' heel of the OMs as can be seen by the
difference in lens tests between OM1s with mirror lockup and OM4s
with self timer aperture prefire. That is all done electrically these
days without the mechanical push of an actuating rod to jar the camera.
