Bob,
Give yourself more credit, they are both very nice images of which
anyone would be proud. Although I think your critter shot is a warbler and not
a Goldfinch (beak is too delicate and the wings should be black in a male).

I've been avoiding shooting at ISOs higher than 400 with my E-1, but last

The goldfinch is at ISO 800, has been filtered with Neat Image and cropped
to a fault, but the color is as-shot. Frankly, I think it's pretty damned
good--the color, not the shot, though I do think the little finch is quite
cute. That said, I've seen finches operate, and being cute is all that saves
them.
The second shot, The Lineup, is at a more sedate ISO, but still right
colorful, I think, for a shot in the fog.
