How irritating for you Nils!
The point about sending emails, especially to a list like this, is
that you are sending to the wide(st)-area network; by default anyone
can read those emails. If I did not want my thoughts to be public I
should have to stop sending emails completely. And why contact a
lawyer? What's a lawyer going to do except take money off him?
You're in a different country and you will have contravened no laws,
nor libelled anyone, nor taken any money off the person.
I despair sometimes ... ;-)
