I didn't wan to suggest the obvious which is one of your favourites:
Apostle Island. I'd be interested in setting up something in Agawa
Canyon, north of Superior, as its microclimate is quite unique for its
location. It's the most northerly location of a Carolinian forest,
AFAIK. But lotsa folks might object to the winter conditions. Me, I'd
just love to hunker down, when necessary, with a stash of suitable
books, beverages and a darkroom with which to catch up on processing.
