I did the London-Brighton bike ride yearly for about 8-9 years until
recently (amazing how many things get affected by a child). For about
five of the years we would see a guy on a penny-farthing, and he would
be going at a pretty amazing pace given the age of his bike, and him.
He would make it the whole way with only a couple of hills walked up. A
few broken spokes didn't seem to trouble him either. I think we got a
photo one year, but not with an OM.
