I'd never heard of Kuhn and had to look him up just now. Their ideas
are very similar. It would be interesting to know if they'd heard of
each other. Bazin published his papers on the stages of genres in the
mid-50's and Kuhn published in the early 60's, but the material could
have been floating around for a while before either of them
published. It would be interesting to know if they influenced each
other or stole from each other or if they were both riffing on some
earlier work.
