It doesn't look like a prototype in the true sense of the word. This looks
more like a production version, the serial number is very high and it has the
plant/date code stamped on the mount. Since this lens did appear in some of
the Olympus brochures, I suspect the lens was actually marketed and then killed
very early on. It's still a rare lense, but hardly a prototype.
