I don't have the Kindai adapter, which is what I think you are referring
to, but my understanding is that you can set the adapter to work either
way, so that if what you really want to do is focus wide open, then stop
down and shoot without holding down the DOF button, you can set it up that
way. This is the way (the only way) that the free Olympus OM adapter
works. It can essentially be made to work either like a manual or an auto
extension tube. Choices are good, I guess.
