Thanks to those who expressed concern about my cardiac catheterization
and stent. But I really wasn't much concerned. I went in early on
Monday and was home by noon on Tuesday. By mid-afternoon I was mowing
the lawn... at least I was until the blade clutch cable snapped. That
was after trying to start the computer and discovering that it wouldn't.
Turned on the switch and heard drives spinning up and fans fanning but
then, but then... nothing!
Much diagnostic time later I determined that the motherboard was fried.
Incredibly, I located it's twin on clearance sale in the shop where I
bought the computer some 3 or 4 years ago. So by end of the day today
and with me $50 poorer it was spinning and fanning and actually doing
some computing and communicating. I had visions of having to rebuild
everything. The board was a bargain.
The blade clutch cable is in the mail from my good buddies at Plano
Power Equipment in Plano, Texas <http://www.planopower.com/index.html>
If you're like me and continue to run a 19-3/4 year old Honda HR-214
mower you'll appreciate these guys who still stock all the parts, know
the equipment inside and out and are happy to give you free maintenance
advice. They do carry some equipment other than Honda.
Sorry, I have absolutely no on topic stuff but I'm still a couple
hundred messages behind and I shall attempt to catch up.
