There is a review by Bjorn Rorslett of the new Nikon D2X 12MP DX sensor
at
http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html
On page 8 of the review is a comparison with the Canon D1s Mark II 16.6
MP FF sensor that has ignited a lot of controversy on the dpreview
forums, besides the usual trolling by Canon owners on the Nikon forum.
Essentially it boils down to the idea that if you are restricted to a
place such as the side lines at a sporting event, or a platform in a
bird preserve and given a similar focal length lens the camera with the
lower MP, but physically smaller sensor(higher density) with make the
more detailed image. He also demonstrates some other problems with FF
sensors such as light fall off with wide angle lenses. Considering the
holy grail of full frame in digital, I was in that camp too, it makes
for interesting reading.
