Not yet, anyway.
The first pieces of the new-to-me Mamiya RB67 Pro S outfit just came off the
DHL truck. The body and 120 back were resting comfortably and securely within
the styrofoam inside the original box. The body was described as mint, and the
only hint of a flaw I can find is a loose corner of the leatherette covering on
one side. That's a 30-second fix. I have epoxy! Otherwise, it looks like
new, with nary a scuff, scratch or ding. The LN lenses three (90, 127 and 180)
are on the way from another source. I'm a happy camper! I've wanted one of
these for years, and now I got one! Never lusted after Hasselblads, et al. I
nearly never see square pictures.
Thank you, digital, for bring down the prices of some great film gear, and when
your own prices come down to a level commensurate with your quality, maybe I'll
participate.
Now a question. This body obviously has been barely used, and not for quite a
long time. Inside the back was an exposed roll of Kodacolor II. I am not
curious enough about what's on it to get it processed, but does anybody
remember when this stuff was last available? That may give me some clue as to
how long this beautiful gal has been hidden away and uncared for. I plan to
make it all up to her. (Yes, she's obviously a lady. I can tell by how sweet
she feels.)
Walt, who still gets excited opening boxes of goodies
P.S. Just kidding about the epoxy. That's a Pliobond job.
