I wouldn't say it's a non-starter. I came up with some excellent
photos using the adapter and if the VF had been an active partner in
this I wouldn't have needed those EOS lenses. But eventually you get
lazy and don't want to work so hard for each shot and I ended up with
a number of excellent, expensive and heavy EOS lenses.

On the Canon side, most of the primes have a DOF scale. They're good
lenses -- I'm not knocking them -- but EOS systems are bulky and can
get quite heavy too. Not what I was used to.

That sounds pretty decent. I've not owned an Oly digital but the specs
on the 8080 looked very attractive.

I've done a little macro and it certainly does focus close. I have an
adapter on mine that allows me to use 55/52mm filters and today picked
up a 52-49mm stepdown ring so I can pop some of my old diopter lenses
on the FZ20. I'm curious to see how the tele range will focus with a
+3 sitting in front of it. When it warms up a little around here (I'm
in Canada) I'll pop on the 49-49 reversing ring and see what happens
when I put a reversed 50mm lens on it. I got some interesting images
that way using an older Canon G2.
