Heh...I find myself happier most of the time with primes. When I got
this 35mm motion picture setup the choice of lenses was either a
20-120mm f/2.5 (T3) or a set of primes. I opted for the set of primes
even though they don't really cover as much territory as the zoom. The
standard kit that I picked up includes an 18mm f/2.5 (T/3), 28mm f/1.2
(T/1.5), 35mm f/1.4 (T1.6), 50mm f/1.2 (T1.5) and a 75mm f/1.4 (T1.6).
I'm fine with a kit like that. I don't care much for snap-zooms and
don't mind making the choices when it comes time to set up shots.
I find the same holds true with my Zuiko stuff. I have an Olympus
35-80mm f2.8 zoom and a Sigma 70-210mm f2.8 zoom, but most of the time
I default to primes. The 18mm, 21mm, 28mm, 50mm and 90mm Zuikos do
pretty much everything I find myself wanting to do.
