Thanks to all. Glenn got me hooked up with a yahoo account that is working
well.
Too many ISP's may indeed be blocking hotmail!
Hotmail tech support basically told me I'm stuck to answer the "challenge"
but if I turned the sound on, the letters would be spoken. Unfortunately I
am using Outlook Express to read my email, so I never even saw the
"challenge". I had to open a separate web browser window just to see the
challenge so that I could read my email. I suspect leaving the incoming list
mail classified as spam may have triggered some sort of alert. Essentially
all incoming email was marked spam but I was reading and deleting all of it
except when away on vacation.
