Hi zuikists,
I think this strange item can only be a projection lens for an
episcope (used to project non-translucent big pictures or book pages
with reflected light). It cannot be a condenser, the focal length is
much too long for this application.Condensors normally do not show
information about brand or data. I own some of these beasts, not
Beseler but Leitz (325mm/f3.6, 400/4.0, 700/4,8) Some days ago there
was a 800/4.8 on german *bay. Typical application was projection in big
lecture halls. I think the longest had 1m focal length...
By the way, image circle is huge..I was tempted to use one for building
a simple large format camera. Instead I now use it mainly as a "rich
field scope" in astronomy.
Nice thing!
Rainer
