No, it is one of the most time consuming repairs. It cannot be done from
the outside. Front casting has to come out of body, then mirror mechanism
has to be dismantled to get at the screw. The inner contact of the sync
socket is normally recessed maybe 1/2mm below the edge of the plastic
insulator.
