I think we may assume that the testers at Pop Photo are not idiots and
thus the film number is something like 100 lp/mm, low contrast target,
no matter how the editors shorten it to just 'lines' in the printed
review. Whatever it's other failings, PP is not some guy testing in his
basement and posting drivel full of typos due to lack of sleep on his
web site. The normal test of reasonableness suggests this too, as the
site you cite suggests, which is why I said I assume 'lines' to be line
pairs.
