Thanks. Hopefully I didn't ramble too much. But at the risk of
rambling too much...
A couple hours ago I pulled out some test prints from last
week's session and eyeballed things closely. The fiber base is
really close to Multigrade IV FB, and the chain markings *could*
be considered batch-to-batch or even specific machine
differences. But that's where the simularities end. The emulsion
response is radically different.
Case in point--The solstice exchange print took me months to get
to print on Multigrade IV (both RC and FB). I tried to reprint
it on Perfecta and failed miserably. The wet look is a great
match for the image, but the tonal curves are radically
different. I probably can recreate the look, but it'll take many
hours of work. (split-grade printed with multiple burns).
