Paint....my.....brand-new....(and very expensive) flash????
Thanks Jeff for the advice, but I will wait until I have had it a few
days before I modify it;-). In fact that is a good excuse to "burn"
some memory in testing it. Perhaps in kitchen where there are a few
reflective surfaces it will show up.
On the other hand, it is difficult to imagine using the wide adaptor
for anything other than what you suggest. It is designed for a lens
wider than 12mm... The wide adaptor for the FL-20, by the way, would
not suffer from this as it wraps elegantly around the top part of the
flashgun.
On yet another hand, I got my FL-36 pretty cheaply. There was some
mysterious discount on the invoice when I received it and i have been
charged substantially less than the advertised price. I shall feel
guilty about it unless I mention it, but then I might get the salesman
into trouble.
